How it works

  1. 01

    Add your drawing

A photo or scan of a drawing, a sketch, a logo or a character. We crop it, turn it upright and whiten the paper, right here.

  2. 02

    Open it in Masko Studio

Sign in and your drawing becomes the character, as it is. Studio makes a clean square copy for free.

  3. 03

    Make it move

Say what it does, like a wave or a jump. A 5 second loop costs 10 credits and is ready in about 5 minutes.

Drawings that animate well

The whole character

Head to feet on the page, with a little paper around it. Cut off arms or feet cannot move.

Even light

Take the photo in daylight, straight above the page, with no shadow of your phone on it.

One character

One character a picture. Colour, pencil, marker or a clean scan all work.

Your drawing, moving

Add it above, or open Masko Studio and upload it there.

THE LITTLE DETAILS

A few questions.

Can I animate my child's drawing?

Yes. A grown-up uploads it and signs in, since Masko accounts are for ages 13 and up. The drawing keeps every line your child made.

Does Masko redraw my drawing?

No. Your picture is the character. Masko Studio makes it move and keeps its shapes, lines and colours.

What does it cost?

Adding and cleaning up your drawing here is free. In Masko Studio, a 5 second loop costs 10 credits, and you get 21 credits when you sign up.

Which files do I get?

GIF, WebM and MP4, and transparent versions with no background for websites, apps and videos. Exports are free.

Can I upload a photo of a person?

No. Masko animates drawings, pets, toys, logos and characters, not photos of people.
